| THE WORKBENCH - almost there... | |||||||||||||||
| This is the workbench page in its initial form. Projects will include the kits being developed, like the Bonestell lunar lander and Solar System Explorer, as well as new terrain models. Below are a few photos of bits in the works, with more coming! | |||||||||||||||
| Bonestell Moon Ship - In the late 1950s space artist Chesley Bonestell did a series of paintings depicting the hardware and flight operations for a landing on the moon and return to Earth. These designs were seen in the 1959 television program "Men into Space," and were also published in such books as "Man and the Moon" and "Rocket to the Moon," with some variations in the vehicles. There is some visual evidence that Bonestell may have been influenced by the development of the Saturn I and X-15 at the time, leading to what some might consider a wonderful "mash-up" of shapes that resulted in these equally wonderful paintings. | |||||||||||||||
