Ordering SMS Items

Shipping Charges
Decals: PLEASE READ: If you're inquiring about total item and shipping cost by email, please make sure you tell us where you're located, especially if you're outside of the U.S. and Canada, so we can calculate USPS First Class International postage. Also, please be sure to specify if you want documents with all sets of the same subject type; you can save on the cost of multiple sets as well as shipping (see decals for more).

U.S./Canada customers: June 15, 2009: shipping requires a $1.00 charge to mostly cover the $1.17 base cost by the USPS for the package rate on a 6"x9" envelope with a cardboard stiffener. This will insure that your decals will arrive safe and unbent. If you're in the US/Can paying with Paypal or sending a check or money order, please tack on that $1.00 shipping charge. If you're ordering a lot of decals or simply can't wait for plain old First Class mail, you can get them sent Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation for $4.25 (usually $5.65) by specifying PDMC somewhere in the order.

Other Products: With larger items such as terrain models, kits, and small globes, customers will be given a set of shipping charge options. These options include USPS Priority Mail, UPS, and FedEx for domestic shipments. International customers will also receive shipping options, including USPS Air Letter Post, USPS Air Parcel Post (if too large or too heavy for Air Letter), UPS, and FedEx. Tell us the option you want, send along the total payment, and we'll ship your items.

Credit Card Sales
Space Model Systems Inc. now accepts the following credit cards for sales: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. Once we know what you're ordering and have determined the shipping cost, we'll give you the total being charged.

You can also use the Paypal option for credit card use. Paypal payments can be made from your credit card to rick(at symbol)spacemodelsystems(dot)com. < This email address done in "longhand" to confuse the spam-bots. Please indicate clearly in the Paypal message window which products you are purchasing, by description and/or product code (even if you told us the items in a previous email, for instance). California customers, don't forget the 9.25% sales tax.

Checks and Money Orders
Checks from U.S. companies, organizations, and individuals are accepted, along with U.S. money orders, payable to Space Model Systems Inc. PLEASE NOTE: SMS, Inc. can no longer accept checks and money orders from buyers outside the U.S.; Paypal and credit cards only. If you're a government or corporate customer, please contact SMS concerning purchase order terms.

Return Policy
SMS retail products (terrain models, globes, spacecraft kits and parts, decals, and art prints) may be returned within 10 (ten) days of receipt of shipment for any reason (other than damage caused by shipper) for a full refund, provided the product is undamaged, is placed back in its original packaging materials, and sent back via USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or similar trackable carrier, insured, at the sender's expense. Shipper damage claims can be handled by SMS or the recipient; a typical FAQ on claims can be found at FedEx's website. Return of retail products involving shipper damage will be handled by SMS on an individual basis.

SMS custom fabrication and art will be covered under individual letters of agreement, purchase orders, or contracts specifying the product return terms.
