The Mars globe is finally here! A new printing process will be used to produce clear, high resolution surface map gores for this large model. See the globes page for more. a 24" moon globe is coming too!

SMS has contributed a number of custom planetary and spacecraft models to the renovated Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California. Click HERE for a look at these planetary models. New SMS terrain plaques will be offered in 2008, based on the Moon and Venus models created for the Griffith, but at a larger scale.

X-15 decal artwork is about done and is going through final scale check before shipping off to Microscale.

NASA meatballs and ISS decals are almost done. JAXA and ESA logos and small module labels being added.
Announcing the OFFICIAL Launch of the 24" Diameter Mars Globe - see the globes page for more information.
The globe is based on a 24" hollow ABS sphere that is machine- and hand-smoothed and covered with a high resolution photovinyl map of the planet surface. The image map maintains a constant shadow angle and shows a wide variety of albedo features and topography, including the volcanoes of the Tharsis bulge, the enormous Valles Marineris, the deep Hellas Basin, and the enigmatic polar regions.

A 24" moon globe is also being developed (more about that soon).
